Setting global privileges for a group

Global privileges grant a global privilege level to a group for all objects of a given type. For example, you can give your Web Designer group Manage privileges for all styles throughout Oracle9iAS Portal.

Setting global privileges for a group is the same as setting global privileges for many users at once. All the members of a group have the same privilege level: you can't set conflicting privileges for a group member through the Users portlet or some other means.

You must be the group creator, group owner, or the portal administrator to set global privileges for a group. Users with the Manage privilege for groups may also set global privileges.

To set global privileges for a group:

  1. In the Portal Group Profile portlet, click and select a group from the list.

    Tips:

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Click the Privileges tab.

  4. Select a privilege level for each object type. A few things to note:

  5. Click OK.
