Displaying a page in Edit mode

If you are logged into the portal, and you have at least Manage Items With Approval privileges on the page, you can display the Edit mode and make changes to the layout and content of the page that will be visible to all users.

If you want your changes to be visible to yourself only, customize the page instead.

To display a page in Edit mode:

  1. Go to the page with which you want to work.

  2. Click the Edit link.

Tip: Although the default text for the Edit link is 'Edit', it can be customized to be something else.

  3. If you cannot see an Edit link anywhere on the page, either you do not have the appropriate privileges on the page or the page designer did not include the Edit link on the page.

Append the following to the page's URL:

    &_edit=1

Note: If you receive an error message, you do not have the appropriate privileges on the page.

  4. Alternatively, in the Navigator, click Contents next to the page group that contains the page that you want to display.

  5. Click Edit next to the page that you want to edit.

Note: If you do not see the Edit link, you do not have the appropriate privileges on the page.

  6. To return to displaying the page without the editing tools, click Return to View Page in the toolbar at the top of the page.
