BRIEF CV OF EXTERNAL TEACHER

Highest level of training achieved
Dr. PhD.
Current professional situation

Profesor Ayudante Doctor

Universidad Autónoma de Madrid

Departamento de Química Agrícola y Bromatología

Relevant experience for the taught teaching (publications, trajectory, projects ...)

My research and teaching experience has been developed since 2006 in Agricultural
Chemistry in international universities of recognize prestige. Firstly, at the UAM (Spain) from
2006 to 2012 doing my PhD as well as a first short postdoc and, subsequently, abroad at the
UNIBO (Italy) from 2012 to 2013, and at the UCPH (Denmark) from 2013 to 2017, including
a 7 months period at the UAM during 2015. This has been possible by achievement of highly
competitive grants and contracts, including the FPU for the PhD and a Marie Curie Individual
Fellowship (IF) at the UCPH since August 2015. Currently I am Assistant Professor at the UAM,
where my research continues the line stablished during my PhD and postdocs in the Group of
Micronutrients in Agriculture of the Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Food Science.
The main achievements in my CV include the participation in 17 national and international
research projects, including the Marie Curie IF-fellowship where I am the principal
investigator. I have collaborated actively both in their preparation and development. I have
collaborated with other national and international research groups, for instance, the University
of Tübingen, UHU, UCM, US, and UNIBO (Italy). This work has resulted in a total of
41 publications, including 20 papers (including 12 first , and 4 second autorship) in
international journals ranked among the top journals in the ISI categories Agriculture and
Soil Science, 15 refereed book chapters and full-length symposium papers, 1 patent, 5
articles in specialized magazines, and 3 publications in electronic media, as well as 20
international and 8 national communications outreach in conferences. I have been a part
of the Organizing comeetee of an International Symposium and co-edited of a book. I have
actively collaborated in teaching activities at UAM (345 h) and I co-supervised 6 final Grade
and 7 Master final projects in the different universities.
My research career presents a clear research line immersed in the field of micronutrient
fertilizers. This focalization has allowed me to get a strong background and expertise in
this field, further enhanced by my study of different fields, including inorganic and analytical
chemistry, and physiology. Thought-out these multidisciplinary research areas I have
stablished my research lines in finding new molecules to be used as micronutrient fertilizers
combining stability, efficacy and a sustainable use. Besides metal chelates, including
especially novel biodegradable ligands, my latest interest has been explore the use of metal
nanomaterials or the biofertilizers for plant nutrition and biofortification. Both of them are
hot topics in sustainable agriculture which is the main concern of the agronomic policies.
