The general content of this module focuses on the application of the research methodology to the policing sciences (qualitative and quantitative research, as mentioned in the contents of module 1), considering the different thematic areas dealt with in the different modules that integrate this master.
In general, the research project should deal with one of the following lines of the scope of police cooperation:
1. Studies on comparative history in police cooperation
2. International police cooperation
3. Legal instruments in police cooperation
4. Applicable operational instruments to international police cooperation
5. Management and leadership in police cooperation
The contents of this module include:
Evaluation and selection of one of the various topics, within the scope of police activity in Europe, especially those of common interest for cooperation police in the EU Management of information sources not always easy to obtain, totally or partially, for its application in the research work that is going to be elaborated
Elaboration of a consistent academic investigation, with elements not only theoretical, but also practical of the police activity .
The objective should be to write a relevant investigation for the daily police activity, avoiding the excess of theoretical aspects and insisting on real contents about the police cooperation.
Explanation on how to apply the acquired knowledge about police cooperation in the EU to the joint activity of different countries and police units, as a priority point of the investigation.
Application of the final results of the Master Thesis(TFM )not only to police cooperation activities but also (when possible) to the legal and social field as a whole.
El contenido general de este módulo se centra en la aplicación de la metodología de la investigación a las ciencias policiales (investigación cualitativa y cuantitativa, tal y como se menciona en los contenidos del módulo 1), considerando las diferentes áreas temáticas tratadas en los diferentes módulos que integran este máster.
De forma general, el proyecto de investigación debe tratar sobre alguna de las siguientes líneas del ámbito de la cooperación policial: 1. Estudios sobre historia comparada en cooperación policial 2. Cooperación policial internacional 3. Instrumentos legales en la cooperación policial 4. Instrumentos operacionales aplicables a la cooperación policial internacional 5. Gestión y liderazgo en la cooperación policial Los contenidos de este módulo incluyen:Evaluación y selección de uno de los diversos temas, dentro del ámbito de la actividad policial en Europa, especialmente en aquellos de interés común para la cooperación policial en la EUGestión de fuentes de información no siempre fáciles de obtener, total o parcialmente, para su aplicación en el trabajo de investigación que se va a elaborarElaboración de una investigación académica consistente, con elementos no sólo teóricos, sino también prácticos de la actividad policial. El objetivo deberá ser escribir una investigación relevante para la actividad policial diaria, evitando el exceso de aspectos teóricos e insistiendo en contenidos reales sobre la cooperación policial. Explicación sobre cómo aplicar el conocimiento adquirido sobre cooperación policial en la UE a la actividad conjunta de diferentes países y unidades policiales, como punto prioritario de la investigación. Aplicación de los resultados finales del TFM no solo a las actividades de cooperación policial sino también (cuando es posible) al ámbito jurídico y social como un todo.
