On-site evaluation exam is mandatory and consists of two parts: a first one with several multiple-choice questions and a second one with short answer questions.

• First part: This part adds 5 points at most to the exam final mark. The teachers can choose between:
  • Option 1. 5 questions so 1 point/correct answer. Each wrong answer will penalize with 0,2. Blank answers don't penalize.
  • Option 2. 10 questions so 0,5 point/correct answer. Each wrong answer will penalize with 0,1. Blank answers don't penalize.
• Second part: two short open questions with limited space to answer. Each one adds 2,5 points at most to the exam final mark. The exam can be passed if they are in blank.

Both, multiple-choice questions and short questions can be about any content of the course modules.

El examen presencial es obligatorio y está compuesto de dos partes. Una primera con respuestas de selección múltiple y una segunda con preguntas cortas:

• Primera parte: Aporta un máximo de 5 puntos a la nota final del examen. El equipo docente podrá optar entre:
  • Opción 1: 5 preguntas tipo test, cada una de 1 punto. Las respuestas erróneas restarán 0,2 cada una. Las respuestas en blanco no restan.
  • Opción 2: 10 preguntas tipo test de 0,5 puntos cada una.  Las respuestas erróneas restarán 0,1 cada una. Las respuestas en blanco no restan.
• Segunda parte: dos cuestiones cortas de desarrollo con espacio tasado para la respuesta. Aportan cada una entre 0 y 2,5 puntos a la nota del examen final. Se puede aprobar el examen si se dejan en blanco.

Tanto las preguntas tipo test como las preguntas cortas podrán versar sobre cualquier contenido de los módulos del curso.

The exam is mandatory and necessary but it is not enough to pass the subject.  CETs are also mandatory and necessary to pass the subject.

The exam supposes the 40% of the final mark.

In any case the exam mark has to be more than a 4.

The exam is usually scheduled in the second week of February (regular call) and in the first week of September (extraordinary call). These dates have to be confirmed with the oficial calendar.

El examen es obligatorio y no es suficiente para aprobar la asignatura por sí solo. Para aprobar la asignatura hay que entregar las PECs.

Supone  el 40% de la nota final.

En cualquier caso, la nota final del examen tendrá que ser más de 4.

El examen se suele programar en la segunda semana de febrero (convocatoria ordinaria) y en la primera semana de septiembre (convocatoria extraordinaria). Estas fechas deben comprobarse en el calendario oficial de pruebas presenciales.

NOTE: Self-assessment questions included at the end of each module are very useful to pass the exam and the CETs, although, obviously, they are not evaluable tests.

CETs are obligatory tests. They are activated when each module finishes in Quiz application in virtual course. They have the same structure that the on-site exam, that is, the first part with several multiple-choice questions and a second part consisting of short questions with limited space to be answered.

The CETs goal is to encourage and facilitate the understanding of the concepts studied in each module.

Each CET can be delivered individually one week after the module finishes or all together at the end of the semester (the last deadline will be set approximately 15 days before the February exam).

There will be no additional delivery date for the September call. So, for both calls, February and September, there is only one deadline to send the CETs, and for this year, this deadline es 12th of January 2021.

Las PECs son pruebas obligatorias que se activan cuando finaliza cada módulo, en la aplicación Quiz del curso virtual. Tienen el mismo esquema que los exámenes presenciales, es decir, una primera parte de preguntas tipo test y una segunda con preguntas cortas a responder en un espacio tasado. 

El objetivo de las PECs  reforzar y facilitar la comprensión de los distintos conceptos estudiados en cada módulo.

Cada prueba puede entregarse individualmente una semanda después de terminarse cada módulo, o todas juntas al final del cuatrimestre, pero se fijará una fecha límite de entrega aproximadamente 15 días antes del examen de febrero.

No habrá período de entrega adicional para la convocatoria de septiembre. Por lo tanto, para ambas convocatorias, febrero y septiembre, hay una única fecha límite para enviar las PECs, que para este curso es el 12 de enero de 2021.

The subject cannot be passed if, at least 5 of the 7 proposed CETs are not delivered.

Each CET is evaluated individually over 10 points.

Each PEC has two sections. Each section adds the 50% of the PEC final mark. Blank and error answers don't rest.

Students have to get more than a 6 as the CETs average mark to pass the subject (7 CETs are considered in the average, even the student sends only 5)

La asignatura no se puede aprobar si no se entregan, al menos, 5 de las 7 PECs propuestas.

Cada PEC se evalúa individualmente hasta 10 puntos.

En cada PEC, cada sección aporta el 50% de la nota final. Los errores y las respuestas en blanco no restan.

Se tiene que conseguir una media superior a 6 en las PECs para aprobar la asignatura (considerando 7 PECs incluso aunque el estudiante envíe sólo 5)

REMEMBER, IMPORTANT: BOTH, the exam and the Continuous Evaluation Tests (CETs) are MANDATORY and  NECESSARY to pass the subject.

IMPORTANT WARNING:  For those students who decide let the subject for the extraordinary call, new PECs will be activated in the virtual course at the beginning of July, which will have to be answered before August 15 and the on-site exame will be in the first week of september (confirm dates with oficial calendar)

RECUERDE, IMPORTANTE: AMBOS, examen y PECS son OBLIGATORIAS y NECESARIAS para aprobar la asignatura.

AVISO IMPORTANTE: si decide preparar la asignatura para la convocatoria extraordinaria, recuerde que nuevas PECs se activarán a primeros de julio y tendrán que ser entregadas antes del 15 de agosto. El examen presencial en esta convocatoria extraordinaria se realizará en la primera semana de septiembre (confirme con el calendario oficial de pruebas presenciales)

Final work: It’s a non-obligatory work to expand any of the concepts studied during the semester. The papers can be about theoretical or practical development (simlators/eLabs). These papers should be sent in the date specified in the virtual course by the teaching team.

It will not be possible to obtain Honor Registration if it is not delivered.

Trabajo Final: no obligatorio para ampliar cualquiera de los conceptos estudiados durante el cuatrimestre. Podrá ser de desarrollo teórico o práctico (simuladores o eLabs). Se enviarán en una fecha especificada en el curso virtual por el equipo docente.

No se podrá obtener Matrícula de Honor si no se entrega.

The final mark of these activities will depend on difficulty, dedication required, etc. and will be APPROVED/NOT APPROVED without a numeric mark.
