Current professional situation

Javier is Telecommunications Engineer (Madrid Polytechnic University) and PhD in Economics in UNED in 2021. For 25 years he has been part of Telefónica's management team, always linked to cutting-edge technologies and services, from Mobile Internet and M-Commerce to the commercialization of Internet of Things, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence solutions. His career at Telefónica includes a three years stage in London to lead the group's global Apps strategy, as well as his position as CMO on the Board of Telefónica On The Spot, a market leader company specialized in Smart Retail. He currently leads Ediacara, a digital transformation consultancy.

Relevant experience for the taught teaching (publications, trajectory, projects ...)

Javier's thesis title is “Study of the impact of customer interaction technologies in the digitalization of physical retail”,obtained with Cum Laude mention.Javier's PhD research subject deals with the impact of technologies in the experience of customers in brick and mortar stores. Javier is expert in omnichannel retail and the value of technologies based on IoT and Big Data in the transformation of the physical stores.

Throughout his career he has combined activities as a teacher, trainer and speaker with his main activity, giving lectures inside and outside Spain. He currently collaborates with various business schools on aspects related to the impact of technologies and digital transformation, including UEM, EAE, ESIC, UFV, DBS and UNED.
