MASTER UNIVERSITARIO EN TECNOLOGÍAS DE LA INFORMACIÓN Y LA COMUNICACIÓN EN LA ENSEÑANZA Y EL TRATAMIENTO DE LENGUAS (UNED)
i-AMICO (iniciativa para el Acceso Multilingüe y Multimodal a la Información y la Comunicación)
La subtitulación social o colaborativa es una realidad cada vez más extendida en nuestra sociedad. Numerosos sitios web ofrecen al usuario comunidades donde se puede subtitular online (es decir, sin necesidad de descargar ningún software) cualquier vídeo subido por otro usuario y compartir el resultado de modo cómodo y sencillo: AMARA (http://www.amara.org/es/) o DOTSUB (http://dotsub.com/) son buenos ejemplos de esta tendencia.
Dada la importancia de ofrecer emisiones accesibles de modo global, la UNED está generando una necesidad de creación de subtítulos para todos sus vídeos antes inexistente. Esto, unido al aumento vertiginoso en términos del número de vídeos ofrecidos por esta universidad, han hecho necesario plantearse formas para que la subtitulación social que agilice y facilite el proceso.
Este proyecto plantea la posibilidad de involucrar a alumnos y antiguos alumnos de la UNED en este proceso. Para ello, se creará una wiki y se irá invitando a alumnos para subtitular una serie de vídeos de CANAL UNED relacionados con las lenguas. Los alumnos estarán aprendiendo algo de utilidad dentro de sus estudios y colaborando en una acción social de promoción de la accesibilidad en la comunidad universitaria.
Por tanto, i-AMICO (iniciativa para el Acceso Multilingüe y Multimodal a la Información y la Comunicación), alojado en http://i-amico.wikispaces.com/ será un espacio en el que alumnos o antiguos alumnos de la UNED con conocimiento suficiente de lenguas extranjeras e interés por la Traducción Audiovisual podrán registrarse (sin coste alguno), participar en él regularmente desde ese momento y aprovecharse de las diversas ventajas de pertenecer a él.
Las funciones de i-AMICO son las siguientes:
Proporcionar subtítulos a vídeos de la UNED relacionados con las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en la enseñanza y el tratamiento de lenguas.
Crear vínculos entre todos los miembros del portal, fomentando la colaboración entre los mismos.
Favorecer la actualización profesional y la formación en Traducción Audiovisual y en el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación para la Enseñanza y el Tratamiento de Lenguas.
Informar a los miembros del portal de novedades, convocatorias, seminarios, congresos, etc. que puedan considerar de su interés.
Facilitar la participación en eventos académicos organizados por el Máster TIC-ETL (jornadas, seminarios, cursos y similares) mediante descuentos y bonificaciones.
En la página web http://i-amico.wikispaces.com/ mantendremos a los estudiantes, además, informados de las actividades que se desarrollen alrededor del máster (seminarios, jornadas, cursos, etc.). Social or collaborative subtitling is an increasingly widespread phenomenon in our society. Numerous websites offer user communities where they can subtitle (i.e., without having to download any software) any video online, uploaded by other users and share the result in a convenient and simple way: AMARA (http://www.amara.org / en /) or dotSUB (http://dotsub.com/) are good examples of this trend.
Given the importance of providing accessible emissions globally, UNED is creating a need for creating subtitles for all their already existing videos. This, coupled with the rapid increase in the number of videos offered by this university, make it necessary to consider social subtitling as a way of speeding up and facilitating the process.
This project raises the possibility of involving students and alumni of UNED in this process. A wiki will be created for this purpose, and it will invite students to subtitle a video series of CANAL UNED related to languages. Students will be learning something useful in their studies and collaborating in a social action to promote accessibility in the university community.
Therefore, i-AMICO (initiative for Multilingual and Multimodal Access to Information and Communication), housed in http://i-amico.wikispaces.com will be a space in which students or alumni of the UNED with sufficient knowledge of foreign languages ââand interest in audiovisual translation can register (free of charge), form that very moment on regularly participate and take advantage its various benefits.
The functions of i-AMICO include the following:
Providing captions to UNED videos related to information and communications technology in language education and processing.
Creating links between all members of the portal, encouraging collaboration between them.
Encouraging professional development and training in audiovisual translation and use of information and communications technology for and language education and processing.
Informing members of the portal about news, meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. they can consider interesting.
Facilitating participation in academic events organized by the ICT-ETL Master (conferences, seminars, courses) through discounts and bonuses.
On the website http://i-amico.wikispaces.com students can find information of the activities of the master’s degree (seminars, courses, etc.).
